About
Welcome to the Interactive Polymer Materials (IPM) Research Center located in Eindhoven, Netherlands. We are a team of enthusiastic researchers who are dedicated to advancing the field of polymer science and engineering. Our mission is to explore the fundamental principles governing the behavior of polymers and to develop innovative materials with advanced properties and applications.
At IPM, we have a multidisciplinary team of TU/e researchers, bringing together expertise from various fields such as chemistry, physics, materials science, and tissue engineering. With our research, we seek to create fully interactive polymer materials, which can be used in soft robotics, living cell communication, novel drug or tissue regeneration treatments, and materials that can be recycled upon demand.
Our group is committed to excel in research, and we maintain state-of-the-art facilities equipped with cutting-edge instrumentation for synthesis, processing, and characterization of polymers. We also collaborate with leading academic and industrial partners worldwide, providing a platform for exchange of ideas and knowledge.
Our team is led by prof. dr. ir. Jan C.M. van Hest and prof. dr. dr. Patricia Y.W. Dankers, both well-renowned polymer scientist with academic roots in Eindhoven.
In Eindhoven, we have a lively research community with a strong basis in polymer science, which enables us to tackle the challenges of creating interactive and circular polymer materials. Our IPM Research Center is ideally placed to innovate and create the next generation of polymer materials.
