IPM Chair Jan van Hest has announced that Loai Abdelmohsen will be taking the role of IPM Center Manager, as of February 1st 2023.
Loai Abdelmohsen is assistant professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and is a core member of the Institute for Complex Molecular Systems (ICMS). Loai obtained his bachelor’s education at Monash University (Australia) in (electro)chemistry. Thereafter, he undertook a master’s program at Radboud University (the Netherlands), which was completed in 2013. At the same university, he conducted his PhD in the Bio-Organic Chemistry group. In 2017, after a short postdoc at TU/e, he was promoted to assistant professor, and got tenured in 2021. Loai has successfully supervised 7 PhD students and 2 Postdocs. He is responsible for the educational program (ICMS industrial challenge) that connects academia to industry, and has an active collaboration with international research groups at Penn State University (USA) and the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC, Spain). Loai will take over the role of IPM Center Manager from Monique, who fulfilled this role on a temporary basis.
